The aspects of culture reflected in the book

This book really can't be regarded as a masterpiece of the world's litterature (no way), but - as it's a modern book, there are modern aspects like:
-the modern lifestyle of a 25-30 year old girl;
-the way that English people spend friday night (pubs, clubs - that's what do they do)
-the relationships in standart english families
-the relationships between friends, what's normal and what's weird
-the things that english girls are ashamed of
-the usual portrait of a perfect man  - and how the girls see him, the main criteria, traits
-the way you should behave in a contemporain society

  1. Annie, you made a good job!Really. And I was surprised when I saw you with that book in your hands! But I suppose you could have used some quotes or details to illustrate your examples.

  2. I completely agree with Olya. The aspects that you enumerated speak favourably for your work, but it evidently lacks details, quotes and explanation of the points...as well as your proof-check before submitting (mind such words as contemporary, English, standard, Friday).

  3. Okay!! Thank you for your reccomendations!! Well..
    I shall start with the description of the relationship in English families.
    1st of all, the author gives rather profound characteristic of Emma's family. Moreover, it was underlined that Emma's family is a typical one. I mean, as it was mentioned in the book, the traits are rather typical, like the mom's behaviour, the family holidays. Actually, if you watched Br.Jones' diary, you can compare Bridget's family to Emma's family, and you will find a lot of things that look alike. Also I would like to compare an English family to a Russian one. It seems to me that OUR families are warmer. and fluffier :) you feel more at home in a russian family. unfortumately it all is a castle in the air, however i hope it's close to the truth!
